Constant numbers are put out, calculating everything. Beyond the computers and screens displaying numbers and a visible indication saying “INACTIVE”, on the other side of the window is a three fourths circular structure with steps leading into the archway that very clearly has a function beyond normal means. The two passageways flanking the giant archway aren’t so much passageways as they serve a completely different function all together with steel tubes going into the archway, seemingly what gives the structure its energy. The lights on it are off making the machine cast an ominous shadow down the dimly lit cold gray floor. The two of them are in the zoo taking a break from the constant drive on the road heading to New York. The two Mokonas are in a bag content in taking small peeks out of the bag at the animals within the zoo. August seems to be very happy, brimming with positive energy with a small spring in his step simply being in the zoo, Yuuko notices this. August is taking pictures of the Tiger in the exhibit and Yuuko is adoring every moment of it. Yuuko looks at the Tiger, that a moment ago was pacing but has stopped, and the majestic creature looks back at her seemingly acknowledging her as more than an equal. Within Yuuko’s mind seeing the Tiger, she sees herself in the noble beast; beautiful and strong, yet contained and to a degree isolated because of the weight of being too strong. He soon comes into the SUV with a waiting Yuuko and two Mokonas chanting “road trip” in the back seats. Yuuko looks at the sketchbook and then looks at the bag containing the gaming system and scowls slightly. August looks confused. “What?” “What? That’s what you’re taking?” Yuuko asks in mild annoyance. “It’s something to keep my mind occupied as I wait when you get finished with what you’re doing in New York.” August answers. Yuuko places her hand on her face. “Oh, what cardinal sins have you been committing before you met me?” Yuuko asks. “Get a camera.” “But my phone can act as a-” August begins only to be cut off. “Not your phone, a camera!” Yuuko

He slowly rises up, his eyes not entirely sure if they want to open up or stay shut while pain is forcing him to accept that he is in fact awake, all while making sure everything aches as he moves. He looks around the room and soon enough notices medicine on his nightstand and water next to it. “You certainly had fun last night.” Yuuko says, smirking with amusement. She is in casual attire, navy blue with yellow accents on her shirt that have what can only be described as leaves as the patterning on her attire with flowy and loose pants that match. August downs the medicine and drinks the water, despite this his body isn’t exactly ready to move any further. His head still pounding as if

xxxHolic Superstitious By: Fushigi-Okami Act Two: Bad Moon Rising Chapter 20 Fireworks are going off, a splash of colors grace the night sky, July fourth has come to Oregon. The popping, the crackling, fizzing, the shrill screeches, the booming; a symphony of fire and freedom rings across the sky. Down in a park in Portland a display is going off accompanied by all manner of music, ranging from classical and patriotic to rock music. Ame Warashi, plugging her ears, trying everything to dampen the loud noises of the fireworks and music playing. “How do you Americans not go deaf with all this racket!?” The annoyed rain sprite loudly announces her irritation. In contrast to Ame Warashi’s annoyance to the fireworks, August, with pyromania in his eyes with two sparklers, has been cackling and prancing about with absolutely no care in the world. xxxHolic Superstitious By: Fushigi-Okami Chapter 19 Act Two: Bad Moon Rising “So, you’re not Lakota.” August says before he drinks a whiskey. He is still processing just what Fushigi even is. “Kind of explains the accent that I’ve always wondered about.” Sitting next to August’s sides were Yuuko on one side of him at the bar table and Fushigi on the other. Yuuko is all smiles, seeing August’s surprise written upon his face as she has a glass of tequila in hand. “There’s so much you don’t know about me it wouldn’t even be good enough to explain in one session.” Fushigi states as he drinks his hard cider. “I think she told you what she is already, didn’t she?” August looks at Yuuko as she nods at him. He looks back to Fushigi nodding in understanding. “So, in that case, you’re quite literally not from here is what you’re saying?” August suggests as he slowly points down to the ground to emphasize his statement.
